May 2010 Workshops and Events

Hi Everyone! We are offering a wide variety of classes this May, ranging from the Low Intensity Kettlebells for Fat Loss on May 19, a class paced for the absolute beginner, to the two hour Advanced Kettlebell Lifting for Martial Artists on May 28, a very demanding course geared to the needs of competitive fighters. Basic Kettlebell Strength

This workshop teaches the traditional Russian kettlebell slow lifts or "grinds." These lifts safely build high levels of stability and functional, full-body power. Correct technique also increases grip strength, joint health, core function and bone density. Optimal use of breath, mental focus and core tension for safety and force production will also be addressed.

Basic Kettlebell Core Training

The inherently unstable, off-center mass of the kettlebell, along with the unique Russian view of functional fitness make Russian kettlebells an ideal tool for training core strength and stabilization. Every traditional kettlebell lift engages the core. This workshop will focus on functional, core specific movements. Awaken your core like never before.

Simple and effective drills that are scalable to any level of physical ability. These exercises are designed to increase metabolism, strength, mobility, dexterity, balance, & confidence. Student's will be shown how to advance their ability safely at their own pace.

Free Joint Health and Mobility Workshop

consists of simple drills that promote long term joint health. Students will learn and practice movements that lubricate, surface, and improve blood-flow to joint structures. We will also discuss how joint health and mobility exercises fit into a person's fitness program and everyday life most effectively.

Advanced Kettlebell Lifting for Martial Artists.

This 2-hour course is technical and physically challenging. Learn advanced strength, speed and endurance training techniques specific to the martial arts. Practice drills that develop explosiveness for strikes and throws, extreme grip & core strength, overall stability and balance.

Prerequisite:  students must be able to execute a correct kettlebell swing and military press.
